Cherokee County is under a Winter Weather Advisory through 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23. The advisory means periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain “will cause travel difficulties.”
“Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities (sic)...and use caution while driving,” the National Weather Service states.
The forecast is calling for snow, sleet and freezing rain to move into the area Friday afternoon. That precipitation will transition over to snow Friday night and throughout the day Saturday. Temperatures are expected to remain around freezing on Friday, and remain at or below freezing on Saturday.
Residents should expect 1 to 2 inches of snow and sleet and up to one-tenth of an inch of ice accumulations.
