The new ambulances were manufactured by Osage Industries out of Linn, Missouri. A new ladder truck has also been delivered to the county fire department. This will be the second ladder truck for Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.

One of the ladder trucks will be stationed at Station 24 near Sixes Road north of Woodstock and the other ladder truck will be placed at Station 21 near Airport Road north of Canton.

E-One Fire Services delivered the new engines on Tuesday, allowing Cherokee County commissioners and County Manager Jerry Cooper to view the new vehicles before the board’s meeting.

Cherokee County Fire Chief Tim Prather thanked both commissioners and county management for their continued support of the fire department.

“I would also like to thank the Truck Specifications Committee and David Tilson, one of our battalion chiefs, who headed up the group in researching the options and designs of these new engines for the county,” Prather added. “They did an awesome job.”

The new engines will go into service within the next 30 days.
