Cherokee County Schools Calendar 2017-18

CANTON, GA — Summer flies by quickly, and back-to-school is right around the corner. Here’s the 2017-18 school calendar for the Cherokee County School District.

The first day of school is Tuesday, Aug. 1. Pre-planning for teachers began on Tuesday, July 23. The first semester will end Dec. 21 for students, followed by a two-week winter break.

First Semester

• Teacher pre-planning: July 25-28, 31
• Aug. 1: First Day of School
• Sept. 4: School holiday (Labor Day)
• Sept. 18-22: School holiday/break
• Nov. 7: Staff development/conference day (no school)
• Nov. 20-24: School holiday/break
• Dec. 22: Teacher planning (no school)
• Dec. 22, Dec. 25-29, Jan. 1-5: school holiday/break

Second Semester

• Jan. 8: first student day
• Jan. 15: school holiday (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday)
• Feb. 19-23: school holiday/break (*Feb. 21-23: potential inclement weather makeup days for students)
• April 2-6: School holiday/break
• May 25: last day of school
• May 28: school holiday (Memorial Day)
• May 29-31: post-planning
• June 1, 4: potential inclement weather makeup days for teachers
