Cherokee Fire Explorer Named Exploring Youth Chair

Brooke Ice, cadet captain for Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Explorers Post #469, has selected to serve as the Exploring Youth Chairperson on the 2016 Winterfest Command Staff.

Winterfest is an event held each year in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where Explorers compete in drills that test their skills and knowledge in the fire and emergency services field.

This will be the first time in over a decade that the Exploring Youth Chair has been a Fire Explorer. Captain Ice will represent thousands of explorers during the planning and execution of the upcoming games, and will co-host the opening and closing ceremonies.
