Cherokee Fire Explorers Promote Officers, Recognize Seniors
The annual ceremony was held last week.
CANTON, GA -- Cherokee County Fire Explorer Post #469 last week held its annual Promotion Ceremony and Senior Night to recognize some of the best and brightest within its ranks.
The event was held at the Cherokee County Fire Training Center, and featured remarks from Fire Chief Tim Prather, Assistant Fire Chief Eddie Robinson, Lt. Scott Deal and Michael Sims.
Deal, who serves as the post's lead advisor, encouraged the teens to “learn something along the way like honor, courage, duty and integrity.”

The Cadet Officers for Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services' Explorer Post 469 that were promoted for 2016-17 are Captain Jake Pohlman, Lt. Kenny Robinson and Lt. Brad Hough.
Three explorers who are high school seniors this year were also honored with certificates. Students receiving certificats were Zach Robinson, Chad Barday and outgoing Captain Brooke Ice.
