Cherokee Fire Recruits Donate Toys To Children's Healthcare
The toys are used as gifts for patients who may need treatments at Children's at Cherokee Urgent Care in Canton.
CANTON, GA -- Before walking across the stage to complete their training, fire recruits with Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services made the trip to Children's at Cherokee Urgent Care to donate toys they recently collected.
The recruits were informed that the urgent care center was running low on toys, so they took it upon themselves to launch the campaign to collect the items, said Sgt. Nathan Sullivan, a fire training officer with the agency.
The fire recruits delivered several boxes and bags of toys to the facility on Riverstone Parkway in Canton hours before they took part in a graduation ceremony held at River Ridge High School in Woodstock.

"We use these items as gifts for our brave patients who may need treatments such as stitches, X-rays, multiple tests or may have to visit us on their birthday," she added. "We are thankful for our first responders for their donation and for the outstanding care they always show our patients if they need to be transported. Children's is proud to be a part of Cherokee County.”
