Cherokee Firefighter Retires After 16 Years Of Service
Marshall began his career with Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services on Mar. 14.
From Cherokee Co.: Cherokee County firefighter, Sgt. David Marshall, was recognized yesterday at the Cherokee County Fire Training Center for his retirement from the fire department.
Cherokee County Fire Chief, Tim Prather, thanked Marshall for his 16 years of service to the citizens of Cherokee County and presented him with a “bugle” award. The bugle or speaking trumpet is a reference to a megaphone like device that was used in the early days of the fire service. Cherokee County Assistant Chief, Eddie Robinson and Field Operations Chief, Shane West, and several of his co-workers and family members were also on-hand for the presentation. Marshall began his career with Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services on March 14 th , 2001. Marshall was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in August of 2003. David and his wife, Kristi, reside in Dawsonville, Georgia with their daughter, McKenna. We wish David many happy years of retirement!
