Cherokee Firefighters Quickly Douse House Fire

Nobody was home, but thankfully several neighbors called the fire department.

From Cherokee FD: Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a fire call this afternoon, shortly after 1 o’clock at 436 Pine Crest Road in Holly Springs. Cherokee County 911 received several calls from neighbors regarding smoke coming from the house. Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a one-story structure and were able to extinguish the fire before spreading to other areas of the home. According to firefighters on the scene, it appeared that the fire was coming from a bedroom. No one was at home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. Cherokee County Fire Investigators continue to investigate for a cause. Both lanes of Pine Crest Road were blocked until the operation was complete.
