Cherokee Lifeguard Teams Win At State Competition
Teams from around Georgia competed, including three teams from the Cherokee County Aquatic Center.

CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — The Cherokee County Aquatic Center Lifeguard Teams recently won at the State Lifeguard Competition.
The Georgia Recreation and Park Association hosted the Summer State Lifeguard competition that was held in Lake Oconee on Monday, July 15. Eleven teams from across the state competed at the competition.
There were three teams from the Cherokee County Aquatic Center that competed in the games.

The Cherokee A Team was: Zoie Hart (Team Captain), Max Pinion, Chris Cox, Hunter Smith, Kyra Larson, and Will Thomas.
They took first in the following events: swim relay, rescue board relay, capture the flag and the written exam.

These games are truly a test for them as they compete for four hours on the beach, performing skills like rescue board saves that are not something they use as they are pool lifeguards.
