Cherokee Resident Joins Georgia State Patrol Post 37

Trooper Aaron DeGourville is a United States Navy veteran and is currently serving in the United States Air Force Reserve.

CUMMING, GA -- A new face has joined the ranks of the Georgia State Patrol.

Trooper Aaron DeGourville #417 is now working out of the agency's Post 37 located in Forsyth County.

DeGourville began his career in July 2014 with the Georgia Department of Public Safety as a trooper cadet at the agency's headquarters in Atlanta.

In August 2015, he attended the 97th GSP Trooper School. While in trooper school, DeGourville served as the class chaplain.

Upon graduation in March 2016, he was assigned to the Cumming Post.

DeGourville is a United States Navy veteran and is currently serving in the United States Air Force Reserve. He's lived in Georgia for the past eight years and has always had a desire to become a Georgia state trooper.

A native of southern California, DeGourville currently resides in Cherokee County with his wife and two sons.
