The group went through a long process in order to secure official tickets to the ceremony. They requested tickets through the office of U.S. Rep. Barry Loudermilk, and they were told tickets would be distributed through a lottery system.

After securing their tickets, the residents began researching the most cost-effective travel and lodging accommodations, along with making reservations at restaurants in Washington.
