Cherokee Schools Hosting Anti-Vaping Student PSA Video Contest
Cherokee County Schools is hosting a PSA contest for students to create anti-vaping videos.
CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — The Cherokee County School District is sponsoring a video contest with a $500 prize to seek students’ help in raising awareness of the dangers of vaping.
CCSD students in grades 6-12 are invited to create and enter by Oct. 1 a short public service announcement-style video that educates students about the health dangers of vaping. Entries will be judged for message, quality and creativity. One winner will receive $500 sponsored by the Service League of Cherokee County.
“Vaping is a significant health and safety threat to our community’s children. Along with increasing repercussions for vaping on campus, we also want to raise awareness and engage our students,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said, adding that he greatly appreciates the Service League’s donation to make a cash prize possible.
