Cherokee Sheriff's Office Names New Spokesperson
Sgt. Marianne Kelley, who currently supervises the agency's Crimes Against Children unit, will officially take over the new role on June 1.

CANTON, GA -- The Cherokee Sheriff's Office has announced the person who will take over the responsibilities of its longtime spokesperson and media liaison.
Sheriff Frank Reynolds has appointed Sgt. Marianne Kelley to the position of public information officer.
Kelley, a 19-year veteran with the agency, will succeed Lt. Jay Baker, who will leave the agency and serve as a lieutenant with the Cherokee County School District's Police Department.

Kelley graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in criminal justice before starting her career in law enforcement with the agency.
Kelley also obtained a master's degree in public safety administration from Columbus State University in 2016. She most recently worked in the Criminal Investigations Division where she supervised the Crimes Against Children Unit.

Kelley will formally begin her duties on June 1.
