Cherokee Sheriff's Office Still Seeking New Deputies

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office continues to recruit men and women who are considering careers in law enforcement.

The agency still seeking qualified candidates to serve as deputies as well as residents who’d like to serve in civilian positions.

Candidates must be 20 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, an honorable discharge from the United States military (if applicable), no felony or family violence convictions, no marijuana use within the last 36 months and no other DUI conviction or illegal drug use in the last five years.

Job duties include detention and “general law enforcement work,” responsible for protecting life and property within Cherokee County and enforcing state laws and traffic regulations, the agency stated in its flier. 

The starting salary range is set between $37,095.24 and $41,908.23.
