Cherokee SWAT Team Helps Rescue Cobb Kidnapping Victims

The mother and her daughter were recovered Monday morning from the suspect's home in Pickens County.

PICKENS COUNTY, GA — The Cherokee Sheriff's Office's multi-jurisdictional SWAT Team played a role in rescuing a mother and her child from a kidnapping incident originating in Cobb County.

Officers with Cobb County Police Department's Precinct One were dispatched to an interrupted 911 call around 11:23 p.m. Sunday, July 22 at a home off Shiloh Road near Frey Road in Kennesaw. They arrived to find a door to the home had been forced open and a broken phone used by the caller to dial 911, said Cobb police spokesperson Sgt. Wayne Delk.

Those officers found other signs of a possible struggle and kidnapping, so they called in the agency's Crimes Against Persons detectives to investigate. Through those efforts, they were able to identify a suspect, 34-year-old Daniel Robert Green of Jasper.
