Cherokee Water Named Public Education Program of the Year

Cherokee County Water and Sewerage Authority was given the honor from the Georgia Association of Water Professionals.

The Cherokee County Water and Sewerage Authority (CCWSA) recently was recognized for its efforts to educate customers.

CCWSA last month received the Public Education Program of the Year for a Large Water System Award from Georgia Association of Water Professionals. The agency received the award during GAWP's fall conference.

The award highlights CCWSA's efforts within the community, which includes environmental education presentations, administering a student photograph contest, participating in science and engineering fairs, sponsoring river clean-ups, making informational fliers available and facility tours.
