Children Injured in 2-Vehicle Accident in Canton
An eight-year-old and six-year-old are being treated for injuries in connection to the crash, which occurred near Knox Elementary School.

CANTON, GA -- One child remains in critical condition following a two-vehicle accident near Knox Elementary School Tuesday morning.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident was reported around 8:30 a.m. March 29. Trooper First Class Jarrod Daniel said an SUV turning left from Knox Bridge Highway/S.R. 20 onto Riverbend Way when it was hit by a Ford pick-up truck.
Daniel said there were three people in the SUV, an adult female driver, an eight-year-old and a six-year-old. Both children suffered injuries and have been transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.

The six-year-old listed in critical condition, the trooper said.
“They got good hopes...that she will be all right," Daniel said.
Three passengers and the driver were occupying the truck, and Daniel said they were not injured. The Georgia State Patrol said the driver of the SUV will be charged with failure to yield as well as not having the younger child properly restrained.
