Code Orange: Air Quality Alert Issued for Wednesday

Code Orange means air quality could be unhealthy for sensitive groups.

It’s inevitable when the temperatures rise in metro Atlanta, the air quality plummets.

A Code Orange alert has been issued for metro Atlanta for Wednesday, June 17, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The alert means Atlanta’s air is forecast to be unhealthy for people who are sensitive to diminished air quality.

“Children, people who are sensitive to ozone, and people with heart or lung disease should limit prolonged outdoor exertion during the late afternoon or early evening when ozone concentrations are highest,” the alert said.
