Commissioner Wants Input on Preservation Ordinance

Cherokee County District 1 Commissioner Harry Johnston wants the public to tell him how they feel about a proposal to implement a historic preservation ordinance.

Johnston on Monday will hold a town hall meeting, which is set for 7 p.m. Monday at the Cherokee County Administration Building on Bluffs Parkway in Canton. 

All residents are invited to attend the meeting, which will also give residents a chance to discuss other topics.

The ordinance proposal comes on the heels of a developer who is in negotiations to demolish the old Bell's Store on Highway 20 in the Buffington community to make way for a Flash Foods convenience store.
