Community Rallies Around Movie Theater Employee Battling Breast Cancer
A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help Patricia Saye take care of necessary expenses once she has surgery.
CANTON, GA -- A GoFundMe account has been created to help a movie theater employee pay for basic necessities after she goes under the knife for breast cancer treatment.
The fund for Patricia Saye, who works on the weekends at Canton's Carmike Riverstone 15, has raised a little more than $7,815 since it was created on Tuesday, Nov. 22.
That's well past its goal of collecting $1,200 for the campaign created by Judy Harvill.

According to the fundraising page, Saye was diagnosed with breast cancer and will soon undergo surgery and will not be able to work for at least six weeks. She is not granted paid sick leave, and "this is a major concern as the bills and rent payment will not stop just because she won’t have an income for a short time."
"I want to help her and am (sic) asking that you join me by helping her in this area while she is recovering from surgery," Harvill said. "Let’s let her know that she is loved by the community with a simple act of giving."

Harvill added that Saye's presence at the theater "warms our hearts with her beautiful smile when her eyes light up with joy upon seeing familiar faces."
"Her contagious smile is a blessing to our hearts and talking to her always brightens my day," she added. "It’s clear that she is so in love with Jesus and it shows through her kind spirit and humble heart. She blesses me every time I see her and now it is our turn to bless her."
