Deparment of Labor to Help Pilgrim's Pride Recruit Workers in Northeast Cobb: News Near Cherokee

Applicants must be over 18 years old and some jobs require prior experience.

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will help Pilgrim’s Pride hire 30 workers for its poultry-processing facility in Canton.

The recruitment will be held Wednesday, March 4, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, 465 Big Shanty Road in Marietta.

The company is recruiting quality assurance, maintenance and production workers.

Due to U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, applicants must be at least 18 years old. Those who apply for the quality assurance and maintenance jobs must have at least two years of experience in those positions. But, since the company will provide training for the production workers, no prior experience is required for those jobs.

Salaries will be discussed during the interviews with the employer.

The company will conduct background checks and drug-screening tests on selected applicants.
