Husband Shot Wife In Cherokee County: Sheriff

He forced entry into his wife's home, where he doesn't live, the sheriff's office said. Now he's facing an attempted murder charge.

BALL GROUND, GA — A Canton man will be charged with several violent crimes after a Monday morning shooting on Flatbottom Trail in Ball Ground, according to the Cherokee Sheriff's Office. Ronald Goss, 53, forced entry into his wife's residence around 5 a.m. Monday.

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office said Monday that they were called to the residence, at 265 Flatbottom Trail, on a report of a person shot. When deputies arrived, they found Goss outside the home with an injury to his face.

Deputies checked inside the home and found Tina Goss, 48, shot.

Both were taken to an area hospital, where they remain at the time of publishing. The Cherokee Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case.

Goss will be charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, home invasion, aggravated battery and aggravated assault. The second two charges fall under Georgia's Family Violence Act, which may carry enhanced sentences.

BALL GROUND, GA —Two are in the hospital after an early Monday morning shooting on Flatbottom Trail in Ball Ground, according to reports. Details are sparse.

The shooting happened in the 200 block of Flatbottom Trail, according to Cherokee Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Marianne Kelley, around 5 a.m. Monday.

The victims' conditions are unknown at this time, and police are investigating what led up to the shooting, according to CBS46.
