Driver Cited in Accident That Dumped Mulch Along Highway

A tractor trailer overturned Monday morning on S.R. 20/Cumming Highway, closing the thoroughfare for nearly four hours.

The driver of a tractor trailer has been cited in the accident that resulted in the vehicle losing its load alongside a major Cherokee County thoroughfare.

Daniel Moses, 27, of Maysville was traveling westbound on Cumming Highway/S.R. 20 towards Canton when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle tipped over around 9:40 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10 on the state highway just west of Holbrook Campground Road, said Lt. Jay Baker with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office.

Baker added it appears speed contributed to the accident and Moses, who was not injured, has been cited with failure to maintain lane.
