Police Identify Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

The 24-year-old driver was found pinned underneath the SUV on the southbound side of I-575 in Holly Springs.

Holly Springs, GA -- A single-vehicle accident along Interstate 575 resulted in a fatality early Tuesday morning in Cherokee County.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services crews responded to the wreck around 7:30 a.m. Feb. 16 on the southbound side of the interstate south of exit 14 in Holly Springs.

Crews arrived on the scene and found a black Ford SUV lying on its side and its driver pinned underneath the vehicle, the agency said in a press release.

A preliminary investigation shows the 2003 black Ford Explorer was traveling southbound on the interstate south of the Marble Quarry Road overpass when the driver, attempting to change lanes, left the roadway and hit a tree, the Georgia State Patrol said.

The vehicle overturned and the driver, Taylor Dimick, 24, of Woodstock, died at the scene of the crash, the agency added.

The accident remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol
