Driver Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash

A Holly Springs resident was injured in a single vehicle accident Wednesday morning in western Cherokee County.

Deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash along S.R 20/Knox Bridge Highway near Highland View Pass around 8:43 a.m. Dec. 16.
The driver, 59-year-old Tommy Walker, has transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries stemming from the accident, said Lt. Jay Baker with the agency.

Baker added the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the accident, but those investigators believe “that a medical emergency may have caused Walker lose control of the vehicle.”
There were no passengers in the car.
