Driver Injured In Single-Vehicle Crash on I-575

BALL GROUND, GA -- A motorist suffered minor injuries early Wednesday evening in a single-vehicle crash in Cherokee County.

Crews with Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services were dispatched just before 6 p.m. to the crash on the southbound side of Interstate 575 just past the Airport Drive interchange.

Emergency personnel arrived on the scene to discover a white Chevrolet Blazer lying on its side, the agency said. 

The driver, who appeared to be in her mid-40s, was able to escape the car with the help of passing motorists. The driver, who was conscious and alert at the time of the crash, suffered cuts to her left arm. She was transported to Northside Hospital-Cherokee for follow-up care.
