Driver Injured When Car Overturns, Lands On Its Top
The motorist suffered a serious injury to his eye in the single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon north of Canton.
CANTON, GA -- A motorist was transported to an area hospital Monday afternoon for injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident along Ball Ground Highway north of Canton.
Crews with Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to the crash around 3 p.m. Nov. 28 in the 3200 block of Ball Ground Highway in the Keithsburg community.
Firefighters arrived on the scene and found a passenger vehicle lying on its top in some brush and trees, Cherokee fire spokesperson Tim Cavender said.

A preliminary investigation indicates the car, a Chevrolet Malibu, was traveling southbound towards Canton when it left the highway, plowed through a fence and front yard before landing on its top.
The driver of the car, who was conscious and alert at the scene, had to be extricated from the vehicle. The motorist appeared to be shaken and had a serious injury to his left eye, Cavender said. The patient was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for treatment.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol, Cavender stated.
