CANTON, GA — A Bartow County resident died Monday evening in a two-vehicle crash in western Cherokee County, the Georgia State Patrol said.

The accident was reported along State Route 20/Knox Bridge Highway between Cartersville and Canton. According to the state agency, a 2016 Chevrolet Sonic driven by 58-year-old Charles Brady was traveling westbound when the vehicle ran off the right edge of the highway and hit a guard rail.

After that initial impact, the vehicle crossed the two westbound lanes of traffic and the center line and collided head-on with a Lexus passenger vehicle that was traveling eastbound.
