Dumpster Days Return April 8 in Canton

The collection drive, which allows residents to get rid of unwanted, bulky items, will be held Saturday in front of Canton City Hall.

CANTON, GA -- The Canton Police Department will host its next installment of Dumpster Days on Saturday at City Hall.

The event is designed to allow residents to dump trash and unwanted items collecting dust and taking up space around their homes.

From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 8, you can drop off items as well as up to 10 tires per resident free of charge in front of Canton City Hall at 151 Elizabeth Street.

Dumpster Days are only provided for city residents, so be sure to bring proof of residency with you to the drop-off site.

Additionally the following items will not be accepted:

  • Fuel tanks
  • motor oil
  • fuel drums
  • household hazardous waste
  • antifreeze
  • paint
  • paint thinners
  • pesticides
  • pool chemicals
  • commercial waste.
Dumpster Days is conducted by Canton Police Department, in partnership with the city's Public Works Department, Waste Management and volunteers from Revolution Church.

Previous Dumpster Days have removed more than 13 fully-loaded, roll-off containers full of refuse and 11 dump truck loads of trash. Items removed from of the community include mattresses, sofas, large appliances, more than 100 tires and a multitude of other waste from residential yards, ditches and wooded areas.
