Dumpster Days Return Jan 6 In Canton

The monthly recycling effort, which is open to only city residents, allows you to get rid of many electronics and some home appliances.

CANTON, GA — The city of Canton's monthly cleanup opportunity will return for its first installment for the new year on Saturday. Dumpster Days will be held Jan. 6, and offers a great way for city residents to dispose of trash and other unwanted items from 8 a.m. to noon at Canton City Hall.

Items that will be accepted include:

  • computers/laptops
  • gaming systems (PS2, Xbox, Nintendo, etc.)
  • VCR/DVD players
  • stereo equipment
  • vacuum cleaners
  • hair dryers and curling irons
  • tools
  • wires and cables of all types
  • phones, including mobile phones and home phone systems
  • printers/fax machines
  • washers/dryers, dishwashers and other home appliances (excluding refrigerators)
  • Sofas and mattresses
  • dry paint

You should also note that up to 10 tires per resident will also be accepted at the collection. Please do not bring:

  • CRT TVs or monitors (old style tube TVs or computer monitors)
  • refrigerators
  • fuel tanks
  • motor oil
  • fuel drums
  • household hazardous waste
  • antifreeze
  • wet paint
  • paint thinners
  • pesticides
  • pool chemicals
  • commercial waste
