Early Dismissal at Sequoyah Could Cause Traffic Congestion
The Cherokee Sheriff's Office says to expect congestion between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Dec. 16-18.

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office is advising motorists traveling in the area near Sequoyah High School that early dismissal next week can have a “drastic affect on traffic around the school.”
According to the agency’s press release, residents should expect traffic congestion between 10 a.m. and 1 pm. Dec. 16-18, as finals week can result in students being released early from school.
Hickory Road in front of the school and the intersection of East Cherokee Drive and Hickory Road will be the area most impacted by the dismissal, the sheriff’s office said. If possible, motorists should avoid the area and find an alternate route.
