Fortunately, the home on Lower Bethany Road had been unoccupied for about two months before the blaze.

CANTON, GA — Cherokee County firefighters battled a Lower Bethany Road fire Tuesday morning which destroyed the house, according to a press release. The house is between Ball Ground and Canton.

A passer-by called 911 after seeing flames and smoke coming from the house, which Cherokee Fire Investigator Cheri Collett said had been unoccupied for about two months. Firefighters checked, finding nobody in the home.

The "majority" of the home was destroyed by the fire, the press release said, and there were no injuries reported.
