Electronics Recycling, Document Shredding Set For April 21

The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce will host its Earth Day recycling event at its offices in Canton.

CANTON, GA -- The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce will host an Earth Day recycling event on Friday in Canton.

The event is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21 at the Chamber's offices at 3605 Marietta Highway.

This event, held in conjunction with Earth Day and in partnership with Cobb EMC, will include the opportunity to recycle aluminum drink cans, used gardening pots/containers, car seats and electronics.

Items that will be accepted include:

  • Mainframes
  • Typewriters
  • Monitors*
  • Televisions*
  • Toner Cartridges
  • Networking Equipment
  • Fax Machines & Copiers
  • Lab & Medical Equipment
  • Telecommunications Equipment
  • Back Up Battery Power Systems
  • Desktops & Laptop Computers
  • Printers & Scanners Cardboard, Plastics & Metals

Please note there will be a $25 fee for TVs and a $5 fee for monitors. Document and file destruction will also be available. Please note shredding is limited to six archive size boxes.

All recycling is free except for a nominal fee for televisions and computer monitors. Flat-screen televisions and flat-screen monitors will be recycled at no charge, however.
