Fire Damages Garage at Cherokee Home
No injuries were reported in the fire at the home on Tunnel Hill Drive in the Macedonia community.

A homeowner was able to escape injury when a fire broke out at her home Thursday afternoon in the Macedonia community.
Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to the fire around 2:30 p.m. Nov. 6 at 107 Tunnel Hill Drive in unincorporated Ball Ground.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage of the home.

“Firefighters were able to put a quick stop on the fire before it reached the remainder of the two story house,” said Tim Cavender, Cherokee fire spokesperson.
Deborah Rymer, one of the homeowners, was at home at the time of the fire and was able to escape without injury. Her husband, Gary, was not at home at the time, Cavender stated.

The garage and the area above the house received the bulk of the fire damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
