Fire Destroys Camper in Northeast Cherokee
A resident told fire crews the camper was temporarily being used a storage.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services are investigating a fire that destroyed a camper in the extreme northeastern part of the county.

The agency responded to the fire just after 8 p.m. Monday, June 1 on Cherokee Gold Trail, which sits off Reavis Mountain Road east of the town of Nelson.
Firefighters arrived onto the scene to find a camper engulfed in flames. A resident at the scene told crews the camper was owned by her daughter and was being used for storage space at the time, Cherokee County fire said in its press release.

Crews were able to demolish the blaze quickly, but the camper and most of its contents were a ”total loss,” the fire department said.
A cause of the fire has not been determined and no injuries were reported.
