Fire Destroys Northeast Cherokee Home

BALL GROUND, GA -- A home was destroyed late Tuesday morning in northeast Cherokee County.

Crews with Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to the call of the blaze in the 500 block of Spriggs Trail, which is located off Yellow Creek Road east of Ball Ground.

Cherokee County E-911 dispatchers received the call from a neighbor who reported seeing smoke and flames from the front porch.

Firefighers arrived to find the one-story residential structure 50-percent involved. By the time crews extinguished the fire, the home was gutted and ruled to be uninhabitable, Cherokee County fire said.

No one was at home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation.
