Fire Destroys Outbuilding In Canton

It appears the building on Hilltop Circle was being used for storage. No one was injured in the fire.

CANTON, GA -- An outbuilding was destroyed in a fire reported Wednesday evening in Canton.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services firefighters responded to the call of the fire around 9:45 p.m. at 1125 Hilltop Circle, which is located off Reinhardt College Parkway north of Marietta Highway.

Crews arrived to find the one-story structure "fully involved," the fire department said. There didn't appear to be any power connected to the building, which was possibly being used for storage, the agency added.

No one was inside the outbuilding at the time of the fire. While Cherokee County firefighters made an aggressive attack on the fire, the building was gutted by the blaze. A Cherokee County fire investigator is investigating the cause of the fire.

No injuries were reported.
