Five Cherokee Sheriff's Deputies Promoted

CANTON, GA -- Frank Reynolds late last week announced five promotions that went into effect Sunday, Jan. 1, the same day he officially became the new sheriff of Cherokee County.

Those promotions include:

• John Gunning, the training director for the agency, is now captain over the Training Division;
• Sergeant Kristian Blakeney was promoted to captain over Administrative Services;
• Corporal James Clement was promoted to sergeant in Uniform Patrol;
• Corporal Sheila Jackson was promoted to sergeant in the Adult Detention Center; and
• Deputy James Roberts was promoted to corporal in Uniform Patrol.
