Five Firefighters Gain Promotions in Cherokee County
Joseph VanBeers, Richard Conley, James Gravitt, Marc Liscio and Ryan McElwee were all promoted.

CANTON, GA -- Five Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services firefighters were promoted earlier this week in a ceremony held at the Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services Training Center.
Cherokee County Fire Chief Tim Prather welcomed those who gathered for the event and presented the promotion warrants to the firefighters.
Two firefighters were promoted to the rank of sergeant: Joseph VanBeers and Richard Conley. One firefighter, James Gravitt, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant while Marc Liscio was promoted to captain.

Additionally, Ryan McElwee was promoted as the new battalion chief. McElwee replaces Tom Pelletier, who recently retired.
