Former Sheriff Endorses Hobson In Solicitor General's Race
Former Cherokee Sheriff Roger Garrison is throwing his support behind attorney Sarah Hobson.

WOODSTOCK, GA — An attorney running to become Cherokee County's next solicitor general has received the endorsement of a retired law enforcement official. Sarah Hobson said last week that she has received the support of former Cherokee County Sheriff Roger Garrison.
Hobson, a partner with the Marietta-based law firm Smith, Schnatmeier, Dettmering, Reeves, Hobson & Hobson, LLP, said she's "honored" to receive the support from someone who has served the county "with distinction and a dedication to keeping Cherokee County safe."
"It's exciting to have Sheriff Garrison on the team," she said on her Facebook page. "His example of public service will be one that I look to, and I'm humbled I will have his support as we continue on with this campaign."

Garrison retired as Cherokee County's sheriff in 2017 after serving in the post for two decades.
"I’m proud to endorse Sarah Hobson for Cherokee’s Solicitor General," Garrison said, according to Hobson's Facebook page. "Sarah is committed to building strong partnerships with Cherokee’s law enforcement agencies to ensure our communities remain a safe place to raise our families. Sarah is also committed to working with the Sheriff’s Office to reduce jail overcrowding by ensuring it is used for those inmates we are afraid of, not simply mad at, thus saving taxpayer dollars by avoiding boarding inmates in other counties."
