Crews Repair Gas Leak in Canton

UPDATED at 5:12 p.m. -- Crews have repaired a gas leak that shut down a portion of Old Ball Ground Highway in Canton.

Canton police had to redirect traffic on Old Ball Ground Highway between Cherokee Collision and Blankenship Sand Company during the leak.

The leak was reported early Tuesday afternoon on the southern end of Old Ball Ground Highway near Riverstone Parkway, but was subsequently repaired before the afternoon rush hour period.

The agency also said the leak had "minimal impact" to area businesses, residents and traffic flow for motorists.
