Georgia Offers Energy Assistance Program To Needy Canton Residents
The state, through North Georgia Communication Action, will offer the assistance to homebound and elderly residents.

The Georgia Department of Human Services will soon offer its Energy Assistance Program to Cherokee County’s homebound and elderly residents.
Through North Georgia Community Action, the program will open the program starting Monday, Nov. 3.

Homes participating in the assistance program must provide verification and meet the income requirements, be responsible for paying the cost of energy for home heating directly to the supplier and be a U.S. citizen or “alien admitted to the U.S. for lawful, permanent residence.
Applications are made through a resident’s particular Community Action Agency or non-profit organization.
