The job fairs will be held Wednesday, Jan. 13 when the nonprofit hosts its Fourth Annual New Year. New Job., an event where dozens of local employers will be recruiting employees.
“During this one-day event we will connect companies that are actively hiring with area job seekers,” said Elaine Armstrong, director of public relations. “We created New Year. New Job. to help people who may have included finding a job or finding a new job to their list of resolutions and goals for the year.”

All Goodwill of North Georgia career centers -- Athens, Atlanta, Cartersville, Cornelia, Decatur, Duluth, Oakwood, Rome, Smyrna, Stockbridge and Woodstock -- will be participating in Wednesday’s event.
- Goodwill of North Georgia’s Woodstock Career Center is located at 9425 Highway 92.
Employers will be at each location recruiting workers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Known for its donation centers and stores, Goodwill uses the money from its donated goods program to fund its career centers and employment programs.
This year, the organization’s goal is to help 20,000 residents find jobs.
“Whether you’re looking for work or not, you can still help support our mission goal by making a donation, shopping in our 55 stores or even sharing information about New Year. New Job. with others who are seeking work,” Armstrong adds.
Job fair attendees should arrive in professional interview attire and bring several copies of their résumés.
A list of participating employers is available on Goodwill’s website along with a location finder job seekers can use to find their nearest career center.
