Gospel Fest Celebrates Black History Month In Canton

The eighth annual event, set for Saturday, Feb. 3, will be dedicated to longtime supporter Lanier Shelnutt.

CANTON, GA — Organizers behind the eighth annual Gospel Fest are putting the final touches on its popular musical extravaganza that celebrates the start of Black History Month. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 at the Cherokee County Arts Center at 94 North Street in downtown Canton.

Gospel Fest VIII will showcase a diverse group of talents with a mass choir, praise and dance teams, as well as soloist performances.

Cherokee County residents are encouraged to attend this celebration, which will be held in partnership with the Cherokee County Arts Council and sponsored by the Shelnutt Family and Kipling L. McVay-Stubbs.

Gospel Fest VIII is being dedicated to the loving memory of longtime friend and supporter, Lanier Shelnutt.
