Creekview met last year's Region Champs in the Longhorn Stockyard Friday night.
The Grizzlies came out defensively strong in the first quarter and with just a minute and change left, the score was still 0-0. On a third and long from deep in their own territory, Kell completed a bomb that finished in a TD for Kell. A 2 point conversion would make it 8-0 Kell.
The Longhorns would score again in the second quarter to go up 15-0 and finally end the half with a field goal to make it 18-0
Creekview was unable to get any traction offensively. By the end of the third quarter, Kell was up 32-0.
In the fourth quarter, the Grizzlies turned a third and long into a first and goal on the 1 yard line with a spectacular Connor Dulmage (5) catch from QB Kyle Wilkie (10). Kicker Ben McClellan would boot through the extra point. The 32-7 score would remain for the rest of the game.
Creekview has the tools and talent to make a go of it for the rest of the season. They just need to keep working on mastering their new system.
They will meet Osborne next week at home.
