Guns Stolen From Vehicles In Canton

Police responded to many cases of vehicles entered.

From the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office: Cherokee Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched Wednesday, August 30, 2017 to numerous entering auto calls and two stolen vehicle calls in the Bridge Mill Subdivision. Currently, there are 15 reports filed for entering auto from overnight in the subdivision. Fortunately, one of the stolen vehicles has been recovered. Two of the entering auto victims reported firearms were stolen out of the vehicle. Surveillance footage was captured from residences and is being processed. Deputies were able to lift latent fingerprints.

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office is encouraging residents to secure their vehicles in the garage of their home. If it must be left in the driveway, all valuables should be removed from the vehicle or placed out of sight. Residences should also report ALL suspicious activity by calling 911.

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
