Head-On Crash Remains Under Investigation in Cherokee
A woman was injured when, according to police, she was rear-ended by another driver, causing her vehicle to veer into oncoming traffic.

BALL GROUND, GA -- The Cherokee Sheriff's Office has released new details about a three vehicle accident that sent one woman to an area hospital in critical condition Tuesday afternoon in the Free Home community.
The crash was reported around 2:30 p.m. April 25, and followed reports of a tractor trailer leaving the roadway on S.R. 369 at Yellow Creek Road.
As deputies were responding to help the trailer get back on the road, the three-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection.

The first vehicle, driven by 58-year-old Martha Spriggs of Canton, was traveling eastbound on Highway 369 and stopped at the Yellow Creek Road intersection to make a left turn.
A preliminary investigation indicates a truck, driven by Cumming resident Jeffrey Chambers, 46, was traveling behind Spriggs when he rear-ended the vehicle, which caused her to veer into traffic traveling in the opposite direction, sheriff's office spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker said.

Spriggs’ vehicle was struck head-on by a work truck, driven by Jerry Cash, 58, of Dallas, which was traveling west on Highway 369.
Spriggs had a 3-year-old male child in her vehicle while Cash had an adult passenger in his vehicle. All four motorists were transported to WellStar North Fulton Hospital.
Cash, his passenger and the child in Spriggs’ vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries, Baker added. Spriggs suffered serious injuries from the accident and remains in critical condition at North Fulton Hospital. Chambers was not injured.
Baker said no charges have been filed at this time, and the accident remains under investigation by the Cherokee Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit.
