Hickory Flat ES Student Wins $100 Savings Account

13 metro Atlanta students were awarded savings account at Delta Credit Union for wining entries in the writing contest.

From Delta Community Credit Union: Delta Community Credit Union (www.DeltaCommunityCU.com), Georgia’s largest credit union with $5.8 billion in assets, recently awarded 13 metro Atlanta students each a $100 Savings Account after they submitted winning entries in its third annual Youth Month Essay Contest.

Delta Community hosts its essay contest each April during National Credit Union Youth Month, which this year urged children to save money now, so they can “Reach for the Stars” in the future. Delta Community leveraged this national theme for its essay contest, which asked students at 13 of the Credit Union’s Partners in Education schools how saving helps them reach for the stars. Participating educators said the contest not only gave students a chance to practice writing and language skills, it also inspired important conversations about financial responsibility.
