Historical Society Shines Spotlight On Waleska Universalists

This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

From Rock Barn: Join us for an engaging presentation from local historian and Reinhardt University professor, Dr. Ken Wheeler, on this little known aspect of Cherokee County history. Listen as Dr. Wheeler connects a small congregation in Waleska to a larger Southern religious landscape. “This is a largely unknown story about a small Waleska congregation and how they influenced the South.” Dr. Wheeler said, “Plus there are a few hilarious moments that come from a debate between one of these Waleska Universalists and a Baptist preacher.”
