Holly Springs Police Announce Promotions, Swear In New Officers

Four officers were recently promoted and two new cops recently graduated from the Cherokee County Regional Police Academy.

HOLLY SPRINGS, GA — The Holly Springs Police Department recently recognized officers who received promotions within its ranks with a pinning ceremony.

Growth of the police agency has created a need for additional leaders to meet the challenges of our continuing mission to serve our neighbors, the agency said.

The following officers have been promoted to new leadership roles:

  • Detective Joe McDonald promoted to sergeant of the Criminal Investigations Division
  • Corporal Jamie Wilson promoted to sergeant within the Uniform Patrol Division
  • Corporal Jeff Lance promoted to sergeant within the Administrative Division
  • Detective Sgt. Casey Barton promoted to lieutenant of the Criminal Investigations Division

"Each of these men are qualified and committed to the high level of service that our agency demands," said Police Chief Michael Carswell.

The department also swore in new officers who recently graduated from the Cherokee County Regional Police Academy. Officers Aja Rodriguez and Connor Burnes have completed 408 hours of police training over the past 11 weeks.

"We accept nothing less than excellence, and officers Burnes and Rodriquez have met our expectations," Carswell added.
